About Saligram Aryal
My Journey Begins
For more than three decades, trekking has been more than a profession for me, it has been my way of life. I am Saligram Aryal (Sali), the Founder, CEO, and Senior Trekking Guide of Mountain World Treks and Expedition.
My journey into Nepal’s trekking industry began in 1996 as a porter, carrying supplies and supporting trekking expeditions through the Himalayas. Those early years taught me resilience, humility, and a deep respect for the mountains. Every day on the trail was an opportunity to learn not only about trekking but also about teamwork, responsibility, and the importance of taking care of every traveler.
Becoming a Licensed Trekking Guide
Through dedication, hard work, and countless days in the mountains, I became a licensed trekking guide. Over the years, I have guided trekkers across Nepal’s most spectacular regions, including Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, Langtang Valley, Annapurna Circuit, Manaslu Circuit, Mardi Himal, Ghorepani Poon Hill, Upper Mustang, Kanchenjunga, and many other remote Himalayan destinations.
Every trek has strengthened my knowledge of high-altitude trekking, mountain safety, local culture, and expedition planning. More importantly, it has taught me that every guest is different, and every successful journey depends on understanding each traveler’s pace, goals, and abilities.
Founding Mountain World Treks and Expedition
After years of guiding travelers from around the world, I founded Mountain World Treks and Expedition in 2010 with a simple vision: to provide safe, personalized, and professionally organized trekking adventures while sharing the beauty, culture, and hospitality of Nepal.
Today, I oversee every aspect of the company from designing itineraries and communicating with guests to coordinating logistics and maintaining the quality of every trip. Although my responsibilities have grown over the years, I still enjoy joining treks whenever possible because being in the mountains remains my greatest passion.
Why I Love the Himalayas
The Himalayas are more than mountains to me, they are my home, my classroom, and my greatest source of inspiration.
Among all the trekking regions in Nepal, the Everest, Annapurna, and Langtang regions hold a special place in my heart. Each offers something unique, from towering snow-capped peaks and ancient monasteries to welcoming mountain communities, peaceful forests, and breathtaking landscapes.
One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been introducing travelers from more than 50 countries to these incredible places. Seeing guests reach their goals, overcome challenges, and fall in love with Nepal is what continues to inspire me after all these years.
